Who are we?
We are a group of poodle lovers right here in Kokomo Indiana that simply love the breed and strive to let those that also love the breed get very high quality puppies at affordable prices. The Princess Petite Poodle member families have over 100 combined years of matching the perfect poodle to your family.
Our poodles are our family, our pets and our bed and blanket hogs.
How did it all begin?
All of the Princess Petite member families simply love the breed and always had poodles.
Living in a rural community we decided that we could breed and share the breed with other families. So we began our adventure. We bought our first poodles from Poodle genius Brenda who is now a long time friend and has her poodles and services represented on this sight as well.
We had 4 boys ages 5-13 years old so we combined our love of poodles with our desire to raise responsible, hard working young men.
Before we began, we took each of the boys to our credit union and had them set up an account. When we would have litters, the boys were all responsible to do the work and learn the process from breeding to puppy delivery.
Each day they would work together to schedule, clean, and sterilize the kennel, feed the dam, feed the puppies, calculate when the puppies could go to their new homes, take pictures of the puppies that in that day we would send by text to clients, give shots to the puppies, keep track of the deposits, prepare the puppies for client visits, host the clients (with our help of course), learn to speak respectfully to clients, learn customer service, and finally see the puppies were ready for clients on pick up day.
As a result of their hard work and dedication to the breed and the clients, since the work had been spread out evenly, the reward of a job well done was spread out evenly as well. After all of the puppies were picked up the monies were divided into 5 equal stacks, 1 stack for each kid then 1 stack shared between us parents. With their reward in hand, we would have them return 5% to us as "taxes". These taxes of course in conjunction with the parents 1/5 stack is what was used to pay for poodle food, shots, medical care, cleaning supplies etc.
The remainder of the kids stack was deposited into their personal accounts and they would use to buy their own extra wants such as shoes, cloths, toys, dirt bikes, video games etc. By doing this our goal was to let each kid learn the value of a dollar, the importance of hard work, the importance of savings and for the higher ticket items as they got older the skill of waiting to get what you want until it is in your budget.
The boys are up and gone now, all on their own but they still come and help us or the other Princess Petite Poodles member families with poodles, our web site, setting up poodlecams, shots day, advertising and such.
The poodles that are available or have been placed, come from member families
All of our member families breed intentionally to assure our line of poodles to be the highest quality, healthiest, and best temperament puppies in Indiana
